OLIMPICS Autumn School – Physics Meets Life Sciences

October 12–15, 2025 – Corrençon-en-Vercors (France)

The OLIMPICS Autumn School offers a unique interdisciplinary training program at the interface of physics and life sciences, combining theoretical lectures with hands-on workshops. Designed for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, the school aims to prepare early-career scientists for today’s major scientific and technological challenges.

This 2025 edition also serves as a platform to bring together the young research community affiliated with the OLIMPICS research federation, through shared learning, collaboration, and exchange. The school’s scientific program reflects the federation’s four major research areas, each addressed by several invited experts.

🔬 Topics Covered:

  • Thermodynamics of biomolecular systems

  • Neurophysics

  • Plant physics

  • Active matter

  • Biomaterials

  • Biomechanics

👩‍🏫 Invited Speakers:

Arnaud Buhot (SyMMES/CEA), Marco Canepari (LIPhy, INSERM), Cécile Delacour (Institut Néel), Aurélie Dupont (LIPhy), Hervé Guillou (Institut Néel), Philippe Marmottant (LIPhy), Philippe Peyla (LIPhy), Catherine Picart (CEA), and Franck Quaine (Gipsa-Lab)

In addition, practical workshops on numerical tools and project design will be offered, coordinated by Ivan Junier (TIMC).

Participation is free of charge for Grenoble-based PhD students, and attendance is eligible for doctoral training credits.
